Researching into the idea of childhood joy and mature sculptural forms, Swift has taken inspiration from common household objects, such as vases, and paired these with children’s shape sorting toys. The shapes and curves of the pieces were created to interest the younger audience, as a representation of fun childlike doodles and sensory toys. While appealing to the young, the mature aspect of these pieces is aesthetically pleasing enough for the older eye, as they have a certain sophistication about them, which would lead them to be shown in a home environment.
